As a universal type of intelligent navigation phone, Although the outlook design of P3470 HTC seems to be simple, its performance of functional application is superior, and hardware configuration upgraded to a higher level compared to previous generation models. P3470 HTC is a smart navigation phone which is worth considering.
On the appearance, P3470 extend the simple style of the brand models, and the design of the body line is not too complicated, with a moderate body size. The P3470 stands at 108x58.3x15.7 mm and weighs about 122g. The phone has a nice compact design and comes with nice round edges. The phone is light and makes it easy to carry out in and out through various pocket sizes. Like the t3232 HTC and HTC Touch Diamond 2, the P3470 is a PDA-style touchscreen smartphone without a numeric or QWERTY keypad. There are several mechanical keys on the face of the phone, for beginning and ending calls and limited selections, but otherwise all input is performed via the 2.8-inch touch-sensitive display, or by using the rotating jogwheel. A short stylus is included for those of us who hate leaving fingerprints smeared over the screen.Below the screen the phone contains two soft keys along with the call and the end keys. Also, there is Windows and Ok button included. The D-pad on the phone consists of a round ring with the select button at the center, the round disc can be used to scroll through onscreen menus and scroll through emails
But when it comes to the functions, I must say that it is not that simple at all. The P3470 features the same software suite as others in the Touch family. Running on Windows Mobile 6, users have access to Mobile Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Internet Explorer, and Windows Live Messenger, amongst others. Strangely, the P3470 runs on a processor with half the clock speed of its counterparts; a 200MHz OMAP 850 chip with 128MB RAM. The P3470 enjoys a 2 Mpix (CMOS) camera without autofocus. Among all other things it packs in a smallish self-portrait mirror and a macromode switch (sitting above the lens). With average use (20-30 minutes of calls a day, 10-20 messages, hourly mail checks, and around an hour of web surfing via GPRS/EDGE a day) it lasted about 2 days.
What is the most valuable thing is the GPS. The P3470 comes bundled with Co-Pilot 7 navigation software and an on-board GPS chipset. The HTC Pharos P3470 integrates GPS-location into an innovative and high-powered phone that brings location-based experiences to customers looking for power and affordability," said Florian Seiche, Vice President, HTC Europe. "We are very pleased to announce this addition to the product portfolio, continuing our commitment to provide an option for every user."The P3470 precision and signal reception quality were never an issue; the communicator did a good job plotting our route, without any substantial deviations; however at slow speeds signal may drop off for a few seconds, but you won't notice these breakups at all, plus they don't affect the precision of navigation.
At last, the battery life is pretty decent and does a good job. With average use (20-30 minutes of calls a day, 10-20 messages, hourly mail checks, and around an hour of web surfing via GPRS/EDGE a day) it lasted about 2 days.
Try this smart, simple phone, you will never know what you can get from it!
